Getting into shoes of a variety of audiences and make content that will be liked by all, a writer only knows about the issues in writing any form of content. There are a variety of challenges, such as lack of ideas, binding a story then productivity. Besides, choosing a word and expressing it is much tough task.
There are numerable apps about “how to write?” which is developed by some developer with little knowledge about writing. Besides, an app that is developed by a writer is all about bestowing knowledge of writing as they have the first-hand experience of stepping from the early stage to be a professional writer. Bookflow, an app by the nominee of the New York Times bestseller book The Dreamway’s author Lisa Papademetriou, not only teaches how to write but also solves challenges faced on every step while writing.
Lisa has written and published more than 70 books. Besides, she was also engaged with Sierra Nevada College’s writing program, where she used to teach her skills to a master’s of fine arts degree students. On the other hand, Lisa was also an editor at Disney Press, Harper Collins, and Scholastic, where she was an editor and also worked with writers to improve their skills.
While teaching, she noticed that a lot of students and budding writers were reading books on “how to become a better writer?” At that instant, Lisa felt like she could be there with them when they face any issue related to writing. As regular teaching and mentoring made her adapt all the issues and understanding of how writers can instantly see how story functions and if it’s going right or not.
Lisa believed that structuring any story is her cup of tea. Even the observation triggered her to writing a book on “how to write?”, but that kind of book is not much helpful. Lisa was determined to do something for budding writers, so she discussed this thought to her husband Ali Usman, who is a technologist. Ali suggested that if the book didn’t help, why not try the app? This idea inspired her to set up a new startup and app Bookflow.
Just after his suggestion with his support, the basic version of Bookflow was created. Besides, Lisa was a member of small listserve for writers there, she asked them to give it a shot, and a few of them tried right away.
Bookflow helps in practicing writing habits, developing storytelling skills, and increasing productivity by enabling users to catch, recover, and arrange their ideas. It also helps in setting goals with the convenience of its drag and drops feature where users can quickly re-arrange scenes or chapters. Lisa says everyone can write, but for quicker improvement, you have to commit to doing it regularly. After the success of Bookflow’s beta testing, it is now working on version 1.0, which will majorly focus on bringing all its features on the desktop.
All-in-all, Bookflow is an app that helps to write anything that digs more in-depth understanding.
