Features Aplenty

Design - Size and Wheelbase

Although the car gives a compact hatchback appearance, the GV60 is only 8 inches shorter in length and 2 inches shorter in height than its predecessor, GV70. It has a longer wheelbase as the wheels are pushed out to the corners into short overhangs. The vehicle rides on 21-inch wheels with a rad complex design. It has a thin dual headlight setup equipped with individual square pixel LED units for a unique effect. Sporting a large grille to gain the positioning as the brand’s smallest and sportiest vehicle, GV60’s grille holds the forward camera and gives it a more athletic appearance.

With a clamshell hood, the company has a redesigned wing badge for this model. The most controversial piece of GV60’s design is its Volt DLO, the lightning bolt-shaped chrome trim that adorns the C-pillar that wraps around the top of the windows and windshield. Available in a glossy black finish, the vehicle’s rear end is pretty clean with a smooth hatch, intricate diffuser detailing, twin LED taillights and third brake light. GV60 also has a face recognition sensor that can be used to unlock and start the car.

Exceptional Interiors

The inside of GV60 is exceptionally mind-blowing as it has a blue interior with lime green stitching that would make it a personalized offering to its owner. With a mixed seat of blue leather and Alcantara trim, the patterns look cool and luxurious in the true sense.

The dashboard is made dramatic by two large and connected screens above a convex piece of aluminum-ish trim that houses the air vents, with mesmerizing features, including a climate control panel with touch-capacitive controls and a superb steering wheel with different driving modes. Not to forget, its world-class infotainment section is just an evolution with 3D renderings to set up menus, slick animations for range and charging displays.

Infotainment Evolution

Genesis has provided an interesting infotainment knob on the center console, which can be its prizest feature. It is better known as Crystal Sphere; it can etch patterns that glow and match the set ambient lighting color. It can move your viewing angle with the movement of the vehicle. The sphere is made more useful by added safety features as well.

Door Panels

GV60 has a neat touch to its door panels that not only reflects its designing aesthetics through its exemplary stitching, trim, motif and much more. With a nice metal cylinder with a round control for the mirror adjustments on the driver’s side, the shape of the passenger door handle looks similar to a speaker grille.

Spaciousness

Genesis GV60 adds plenty of legroom and headroom with a deep sense of airiness for the passengers. With added open spaces between the rows of seats, it is easy to pass items without making them fly from the cabin to the end of the seat. It comes with a foldable rear seat arrangement; they can be made flat and recline into an almost horizontal position. Besides, passengers get a huge cargo space under the hatch despite the sloping roof.

Other Specifications

Apart from the aforementioned features, the company has released a series of specifications, including an initial rear-wheel-drive model with a 77.4-kilowatt-hour battery pack, a 225-horsepower electric motor in two AWD versions (Korea only). No information has been released about its EPA range, but it is estimated that the Korean RWD model will go to a range of around 250 miles while the PErformance AWD version will go on a 229-mile range in Korea. Not many updates have been made for the US-spec AWD model.

The Final Verdict

Genesis is planning to start the sale of GV60 from early 2022 in the US market. The price of the machine is expected to be around $50,000. With so many amazing features and specifications, Genesis GV60 is seen as a revolutionary invention in transportation.
